Pacific Rim Conspiracy: What Is Tresspaser's Category?

Image
The movie "Pacific Rim" took the giant monster genre truly to the next level. I mean, who can resist a movie about giant robots fighting a war against alien monsters that gave Cloverfield a run for his money? It was seriously the dominant giant monster movie of the modern age until the Monsterverse's first movie, 2014 "Godzilla". But as cool as Knifehead and Otachi were in "Pacific Rim", One Kaiju was especially interesting, especially as I started researching the lore of the film. The kaiju I found the most interesting was Trespasser, the first Kaiju invader.    Any Pacific Rim fan knows who Trespasser was. The first Kaiju to emerge from the Breach. We all (at least, I do) want to see more of this Kaiju, to truly know what happened in California. To my amazement, there's actually a conspiracy about him.  Trespasser:    Warning: SPOILERS. If you haven't seen the movie, this article may contain spoilers.  There has been some debate about th...

There are at least 2 monsters in "Cloverfield"

The movie "Cloverfield" is a great movie, and one of my favorite giant monster movies. But as it is a found-footage movie, there's bound to be mysteries regarding the film, yielding some theories about it. The theory I'll be talking about is that there are more than one Cloverfield monsters: a baby, and the mother.  Now, obviously the baby is matured a little bit. He's not as big as the mother, but he's still kaiju-sized. But what are the differences? How do we know that there are more than one?  In the Cloverfield wiki, the website explains the origin of the mysterious monster in "Cloverfield". It describes the monster as an infant, being woken up from a slumber by a Tagruato satellite.  Judging from the differences in some of the monster scenes, it seems like the monster seen throughout the city is the baby, and the one that eats Hud (the cameraman) at the end is the mother. That's right, the mother is in the movie.  We know they are at lea...

2005 "War Of The Worlds" Has Different Tripod Designs

Image
I really liked Spielberg's 2005 "War Of The Worlds". Sure, it wasn't as good as the book, but as far as the movie's faults go, that's pretty much it. The Characters are good, the aliens (which are not Martians in Spielberg's version) and Tripods were awesome, the John Williams music was great, and everything else was cool and apocalyptic. The 1953 version tells the story as adapted from a cool 50s Si-fi point of view, and now in the 2005 reboot, the story is told as a modern thriller plot. So when I found out about a fan theory regarding the film, naturally I flipped (figuratively, not literally).  The iconic tripods in Spielberg's adaption look very similar to each other. They also share many characteristics, such as force-shields, three legs (duh) and more. But after deep analysis, it seems that there may be at least three different Tripod types in the movie. I've given each type its own name, to make classifying them easier. Before we begin, be...
